The Consolations of Philosophy

Alain de Botton was born in 1969. He is the author of Essays in Love (1993), The Romantic Movement (1994), Kiss and Tell (1995) and How Proust Can Change Your Life (1997). He is an Associate Research Fellow of the Philosophy Programme at the School of Advanced Study, University of London, and he presented the UK’s Channel 4 series, which inspired his book The Consolations of Philosophy (2000).
