School Kids Still Forced into Christian Prayers

Children in schools in England must take part in daily acts of collective worship, which the UK government specifies must be predominately Christian, focus on the life of Jesus, and include Christian prayers.

Parents have to go out of their way to have their children withdrawn from collective worship if they wish to do so, and children cannot themselves ask to be excluded unless they are over 16 years of age.

Schools are not required to provide alternative lessons, sport or other activities for those withdrawn.
